    This February the 20th of 2012, the Galician Shellfish workers Asociation (AGAMAR) wants to join the World Day of Social Justice, unha date anoo held since 2008. The following is prepared text or Polish UN to commemorate this year:

    An overcrowded slum area has sprung up within view of the city’s gleaming high-rises.

    Social justice is an underlying principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and among nations. We uphold the principles of social justice when we promote gender equality or the rights of indigenous peoples and migrants. We advance social justice when we remove barriers that people face because of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability. (more…)

    The Galician Association of Shellfish Workers (AGAMAR) initiated collaboration with Dr. Andrea Sáenz-Arroyo, scientific director of the Community and Biodiversity A.C. (COBI) in Mexico. The Mexican scientist contacted with AGAMAR’s president, Natalia Laiño, to know, directly, the reality of the Galician coastline with special interest by how are the links between the human and natural ecosystems in ours coast.     Muhammad Ali Shah visiting Galicia

    The General Secretary of the World Forum of Peoples Fishermen (WFFP) pleads for a national and international union of the workers of the sea to be able to fight for his way of life. The visit of the new General Secretary of the WFFP began with the walk along the beach of the Arenales for know closely to the extractive system of this zone. Accompanied by Natalia Laíño, treasurer of the World Forum and Chairwoman of AGAMAR, the Pakistani one it showed special interest for the procedures of extraction of the mollusks and the whole legal regulation in the development of this activity.
