SAÚDE Project |
Last 15th September was initiated the SAÚDE Project, an initiative of the Galician Association of Shell fishers (AGAMAR)) that will be financed by the Department of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs (Autonomous Galician Government). This is a project that has as aim the design and development of two protective equipment for the shellfish to walk, which will replace the clothes that they are using to eject the shellfisher activity (raincoat, neoprene suits, etc.).. With these two garments we want to improve significantly the working conditions of shellfish to walk. It will be two models, one for use during high temperatures and one for use during the winter. In this way, they will look for work teams to be as insulating as possible, in addition to comfortable, lightweight and flexible. It is also intended to accompany those suits and a heat-proof underwear, in a way that serves to protect from cold and systems with perspiration. To carry out this project AGAMAR will be supported by the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia (IBV), the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Tarrasense Conditioning (LEITAT Technology Centre) from Barcelona, the Technology Centre of the Sea (CETMAR Foundation) and Galician Institute of Security and Industrial Health (ISSGA). For the realization of this project will be needed 5 phases:1) The study of the industrial risk prevention in the shellfish to walk,
2) Selection of materials and technologies to use, 3) Design of prototypes, 4) Transfer of results to the practice ( “pilot probe”) 5) Dissemination of the project and its results. In the first phase (The study of the industrial risks prevention in the shellfish to walk), already in process, which is intended to define the methodology used to compile the necessary information (literature, questionnaires, meetings, medical examinations to shellfish, data historical work on health, etc.) collecting socio-economic and laboral information and as well as some testimonials from industry professionals, contrasting and estructuring the information gathered, the study from a technological approach, medical and vocational develop the findings of the diagnosis, and ultimately make monitoring relevant technology. In the second stage (Selection of materials and technologies to use), the objectives are defining the methodology for selection research in the field of R & D, medical research and biomechanics, preparation of research reports and selection of items, materials and technologies to be used for the subsequent design and development of protective equipment. In the third stage (design of prototypes) aims to design prototyping, to acquire the necessary materials, develop prototypes, conduct tests for testing and trials, validating the technologies and materials for the prototype and analyzing the costs of manufacturing prototype ( economic feasibility report). In the fourth phase (Transfer of results to the practice ( “pilot probe”) Is planned to define the procedure to be adopted for the pilot test, likely to make the pilot probably follow the pilot, to identify and analyze the improvements offered by the prototype (identifying improvements to make), final validation of the prototype and produce a final report. Finally, the objectives to the fifth phase (Dissemination of the project and its results) are the design and development of information material, dissemination do it in the media, a guide of good practices and the conduct of Two-day extension. |
